We spend many months in testing and documenting the performance of the Vestas RRB turbines. When we are finally satisfied, we run one last test in the presence of independent organisation to be sure of the performance. This is the standard practice at Vestas RRB-a procedure we call Proven Performance. It is our gurantee that your Vestas RRB turbine meets the very highest requirements for energy production, availability factor, power quality and sound levels.

All Vestas RRB turbines, are equipped with microprocessor-controlled OptiTip pitch regulation, ensuring continuous and optimal adjustment of the angles of the blades in relation to the prevailing wind. The OptiTip system is the best solution to the often contradictory requirements for high output and low sound levels, depending on the location.

Additionally our, new turbines are equipped with Vestas RRB Lightning Protection, which protects the entire turbine from the tips of the blades to the foundation. The system conducts almost all lightning strikes harmlessly past the sensitive parts of the nacelle and down into the earth. As an extra safety measure, the delicate control units and processors in the nacelle are also protected by an efficient shielding system. The lightning protection system is an improvement over earlier versions of Vestas RRB turbines.

Vestas RRB always measures and tests all new products down to the smallest detail before releasing them to the market. The flexible blades are subjected to a 6-month dynamic distortion test under extreme loads-more than they would normally be exposed to cope with in their 20-years service life. The maximum loads and outward distortion of the blades are then checked in a static test. The blades after passing all the tests make an appreciable contribution to the efficient production of the turbines, to which they are fitted.
