The Construction Equipment and Technology Trade Fair, Excon-2005, concluded here on Sunday.  The five-day event attracted 25,000 business and trade visitors and generated over Rs.1,000 crore worth business enquiries.

The trade fair acted as a platform for companies to interact with prospective customers and also to connect, network and enter into new partnerships with fellow manufacturers, a release said.  The event was organized by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII).

“The participation at Excon-2005, both in terms of companies and visitors, was overwhelming and it is definitely moving towards international recognition,” the release said, quoting Larsen and Toubro Construction and Mining Equipment Business Unit, General Manager, S.K. Mittra.

Volvo Construction Equipment, Vice President,  Mrityunjaya Singh said business enquiries worth about Rs.45-50 crore were received by his company over the last five days.

Over 170 exhibitors representing global and regional players in construction equipment and technology participated in the event that showcased the country’s engineering skills and potential as a global outsourcing destination for manufacture of construction equipment and components.
